My second meal from YummyBros. As before, I opted to have no carbs so more broccoli were added.
I have never tasted any Kung Pao chicken that tasted good. Or is it supposed to taste like that?
Unfortunately the same goes for this dish —it is bland. To be honest it taste like those generic brown gravy you get from chai png stores. The Kung Pao sauce is not spicy at all.
In the first place, am I getting the right dish? Compared to the image from yummybros website, mine looks different. The sauce amount also looks lesser. Theirs look much darker and more saturated that the one I got. Maybe it’s lighting.
Maybe Kung Pao never tasted good in the first place.
Compared to the chicken thigh in the satay chicken, the chicken breast is rather tough and chewy. Does not seem as well marinated as the satay chicken. Or is this normal for chicken breasts?
- I know they already put more broccoli since I opted for no carbs but man that broccoli serving looks sparse.
- Btw the sodium looks high in this.
Thoughts
I don’t think I will be getting this dish again. Not as enjoyable as the others. This Kung Pao is not as yummy as I expected it to be. Maybe they added too little Kung Fu in the ingredients.
P.S: If anyone can find any good kung pao for my reference please let me know.
